Alondril Galandonel Part I
From Black Country Role Playing Society
He wonders from place to place, not really knowing why or where he’s going or even who he really is. He knows that his name is Alondril Galandonel, or at leas that’s what his parents used to call him. He left it all behind a rich family, a large peaceful settlement, a life of almost guaranteed happiness and for what, not even he knows. He remembers everything that happened, he just doesn’t know why it happened.
It was never right though, he wasn’t the same as the rest of them not even as a child. He didn’t play with the other children he simply sat on his own in the woods surrounding the village. He looked to be in deep thought when ever he did this, but know one knew what he was thinking about. His parents tried asking him several times, especially his mother, who loved him more than anything. She grew so, so, worried about him, but he hardly ever spoke to her, or to anyone for that matter. He just sat there, and thought. Until one day when his mother came to wake him in the morning, he had gone, left without a trace. His mother, his father, his entire family and almost all of the settlement searched for him days on end, but there was no trace, he had gone.
For days he walked having no idea why he had left or where he was going. Further and further he walked into the dangerous forests that surrounded the place he used to live. It was a miracle he wasn’t killed. After about 6 days of continuous walking he blacked out.
When his eyes opened he was lying in a bed in what seemed like a small wooden hut, he sat up sharply and looked around, his vision was hazy but he could make out strange animal hides and weapons mounted on the walls. “Dangerous place these woods kid, lucky I found you when I did.” Said a low grumbling voice from the far corner of the room. Alondril jumped out of his skin. He peered into the corner of the room where the voice was coming from and saw the silhouette of a man sitting on a wooden chair, carving something out of a stick. Shadows covered his entire body and face.
“Who are you!” he said, pushing himself back on the bed against the wall.
“I’m the person that’s just saved your sorry ass. Who the hell are you?” he replied.
“My names Alondril.” He stuttered.
“Well, its nice to meet you Alondril, what brings you to this dangerous place?”
“I don’t know. I’ve been walking for days, I don’t really know where to though.”
“Well that’s a bit silly of you isn’t it. You get some rest for a couple more days then I’ll take you back to wherever it is you came from, these woods are no place for the faint hearted.”
“NO, I can’t go back, I won’t.” Shouted Alondril.
At this point the man stood up out of his chair and walked closer to Alondril. He could now make out his face, this man had all the facial features of an elf, but the build of a small human. He was obviously very old, his silvery hair shone in the moonlight coming through the window and his eyes looked almost translucent.
“Why’s that then?” he said quite sinisterly.
“I, I, just cant, I don’t know why, I wont let you, if you try I’ll just run away again.”
“Well then I sense there’s no point in me making the journey, you can stay here for as long as it takes for you to get healthy, then you can be on your way.”
“Where will I go?”
“That’s completely up to you, you’re the one who left you home, you really should have thought of that before you left”
Alondril didn’t know why, but he felt drawn to this man, more than he had ever been drawn to anyone, more than his own parents.
“Can I not stay here with you?” He pleaded.
“Now why would you want to be doing that? I have nothing to offer one such as yourself, I am a simple hermit, a wild man, a loner. An old one at that. I share nothing in common with you”
“Please I have no where else to go, I would really appreciate it, and I’ll help you out in anything you want.”
The man stared at him for a while.
“Very well, you can stay here with me and I suppose I could teach you a few things about surviving around here, by the way my name is Mephalo Ravenclaw”
