Background
Charles is the archetypal cad of the 1920s. Born to the Krieg* family, his heritage lies in cabinet making of the highest standards, its reputation no less than cabinet makers to the English royal family. This means little to Charles however, as he has no interest in following in his father footsteps into the industry.
His schooling was at the Boston Latin School, and though he had the ability to be a very bright student, his attitude and outside interests did little to earn him any favours, and he only just managed to graduate (and some say that only then following a generous donation by his father). He did achieve a good measure of success in the visual arts program, and to this day Charles has a keen interest in paintings both in the classic and modern style
His father is not strict with Charles, he thinks his son’s rebellious nature similar to his own when he was his age, and thus gives him much latitude in his endeavours.
Charles often drops his Krieg surname in an attempt to hide is identity. This is at the behest of his fathers concern for his safety, and also in his attempts to be seen as a true American, rather than the son of an immigrant.
He is a regular in the Boston social scene, making headlines regularly in the society pages. Though not a notorious bounder in the historical sense, Charles has been in several incidents involving prominent ladies of the era, and has acquired quite a reputation because of it.
