After leavin' the mysterious valley behind, we heard a rockfall sealin' the chasm behind us. With the two known ways intae the valley gone, I waer sad that species unknown tae science would lie beyond mae reach forever. But I had a glimmer of hope - the savage, Tuloch, said his tribe had traded wi' the cursed Blackfoot regularly. Perhaps we'd find 'em soon and I'd be closer to finding mae beloved Rebecca.

We made our way southwards along the dried river valley. The Sun beat down mercilessly upon our backs. Smith waer in a strangely chipper mood hummin' tunes that Jack had played last night tae entertain the tribe.

Suddenly from behind a boulder ahead of us, out steps out a red indian with a rifle pointing at us.

Ace's hand hovers over his revolver and Big Tony says calmly. "Put the gun down there boy an' they'll be no trouble..."
