The Iron Empires
From Black Country Role Playing Society
Once, the human race consisted of a large galaxy spanning civilisation, the Federated Empire. The Empire slowly sank into decay and was soon rife with greed, pride and infighting. Only the core remains of this once great empire. What was once little more than the Capital Sector of the Central Prefecture of the Federated Empire is now the total span of human civilization. Where once there was a single unified government, there now exists eight small empires vying for supremacy, each yearning for the glory days of empire and ignoring their own demise. These are the Iron Empires.
The Casiguran Matriarchy An insular and defensive empire where birthright passes from mother to daughter, the matriarchy is despised by the Mundas Humanitas and Cormoran Cyrean Heretics. They are unconcerned with the Vaylen.
The Comoran Worlds Possessing strong resources and armies the Cormorans Insulated position gives them a strong claim to the throne and protection from the Vaylen. However internal conflicts between the Mundas Humanitas and Cyrean sectarians use up a lot of the empires strengths.
The Darikahn Empire The most powerful of the Iron Empires and seat of the Hanrilke throne. Their ambitions are curtailed however due to the border they share with the Vaylen.
The Dunedin Worlds Devout followers of the Prophet Ahmilahk who have pledged holy war against the Darikahn for outlawing the prophets voice. The Dunedin view the Vaylen as a righteous plague upon their hated enemies.
The Gonzagin Empire The true successors of the Federated Empire, the Gonzagin Empire contain the heirs of the Hanrilke throne. The dukes are fiercely independent though and don’t work together. Along with a shared border with the Vaylen which is subject to constant attacks, the Gonzagin are militarily very weak.
The Karsan League The Karsan League is the front line in the war against the Vaylen. The League’s worlds ally themselves to the Tirkahn or emporer and keep themselves separate from the petty rivalries of the other Iron Empires. Being the most technologically advanced, the Karsan focus their attention on the Vaylen.
The Kudus Theocracy A newly established religious state ruled by the Mundas Humanitas. They oppose the Darikahn Empire with the support of the Gonzagin, Cormoran and Dunedin worlds.
The Urfan Worlds A loose collection of baronies whose golden age passed long ago. Situated on the Northern fringes, the Urfan are furthest from the Vaylen threat but have fallen into a struggle for survival against barbarism.
