The Town of Winterwall

Winterwall is a town of some 4000 souls. It is unusual in that it is carved into an ancient relic of some forgotten time: A great series of columnar walls of basalt. It consists of three parallel rising column walls of stone. Many are hexagonalin section and obviously magical in origin. They rise from the ground forming a formidable barrier to any that would attempt to pass it. The fortified town itself sits mostly above the second and third walls, though many smaller outbuildings dot the local area for hundreds of yards.

The Feast of Parley is an annual celebration held "outside the wall". Traditionally people come from within the Barony from as far a field as Grey Tower (to the east), Olric's Bridge (to the west) and the StormHalt (mountains to the north).

The Hoarwood

The Hoarwood lies to the south of town at the base of the wall. It is a place of fierce cold beyond the normal cycle of seasons and geography. Traditionally this has been a place little ventured to for fear of disturbing their grim occupants. Local legend has it that dark fey rule the woods with a cruel hand and few would dare to enter the woods alone. The town and the woods endure an uneasy peace, won some fifty years ago by the then Baron, Hunchaart III, the Peace Maker. Border skirmishes had been a common problem for generations, but for now, the peace holds.

The Wider World

The area around Winterwall is cool-temperate. Dense natural forests and rugged mountains abound.

The Gods

We start off with a default pantheon based on DnD4. However some of these may change or disappear to suit the campaigns needs. Any players are free to create "their own god" to suit character concept or just for fun.
